    Transportation

    You can get to the airport by private or public transport. Detailed information about the time and cost of each option can be found in the «How to Get There» section.

    Baggage

    Without leaving the pick-up hall, contact the baggage tracing service. The employee will draw up an appropriate act and explain the procedure for subsequent actions. To process documents on damage or shortage of content, you must have:

    • ticket;
    • baggage tag tear-off coupon;
    • damaged luggage.

They will help you to make a statement about the non-arrival of luggage, where you will need to describe your suitcase or bag in as much detail as possible, as well as their contents. To make an application (certificate) for non-arrival of baggage, you must have:

    • a boarding pass;
    • the tear-off ticket of the luggage tag.

    Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport searches for the checked baggage of passengers of airlines with which a contract for the "Baggage search" service has been concluded. The carrier is engaged in the search for baggage of airlines with which the terminal does not have such an agreement.

    After 21 days from the date of submission of the application for non-receipt of baggage, the passenger has the right to demand compensation from the carrier (airline) for damage caused by the loss of checked baggage.

    The airline delivers the baggage at its own expense to the airport terminal (point) indicated by the passenger. If, during the search for checked baggage, the contents of the bags deteriorate due to expiration of the storage period, adverse effects of temperature, humidity or other factors, the agent of the baggage tracing service has the right to destroy all or part of the perishable baggage. At the same time, having drawn up a recycling certificate in 2 copies.

    If the luggage does not arrive on time, then immediately upon arrival of the bags at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, the agent of the baggage tracing service will contact you.     If the checked baggage, with a properly issued numbered baggage tag, arrived at the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk airport, but was not received or claimed by the passenger, the baggage tracing service agent ensures the search for the baggage owner and notifies about the procedure for receiving or delivering the baggage.

    Unclaimed baggage is stored in the airport terminal for 6 months from the date of notification of the passenger.

    If the baggage remains unclaimed after 6 months, it may be destroyed in accordance with the procedure established by regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation.

    Unclaimed baggage is stored without charge for the first two days (from 00:00 to 24:00), including the day of arrival of the aircraft on which it was delivered.

    Further, the costs of storing baggage not received by the passenger are reimbursed in accordance with the civil legislation of the Russian Federation at the rates published on the terminal's website.

    Tickets

    Tickets can be purchased on the airport website, on the airline's website or at the ticket offices located on the first floor. At the ticket offices, you can also pay for additional services: for example, upgrading the class of service or excess baggage.

    At the airport, the boarding pass can be printed at the following locations:

    • Check-in counters for your flight
    • Boarding pass printing terminals, which are located in the general area in front of the check-in counters
    • Second floor before the pre-flight inspection area

    You can upgrade your ticket class at the check-in counter with an airline representative or at the ticket office. The service is provided if there are enough bonus miles or for cash, if it is technically possible to upgrade the ticket class on a specific flight. Check-in at the airport typically starts no earlier than 2 hours and closes 40 minutes before the flight departs. Always confirm the exact check-in times with your airline.

You can also do this at the airport building, at the information desk, but in this case there is a high probability that you will have to wait for help - there is a risk of missing your flight.

    The airport has a mother and child room for children under 8 years old accompanied by one adult; children under 14 years old, if the child and a child under 8 years old are accompanied by one adult; children with disabilities up to 14 years old accompanied by one or two adults per child; pregnant women in the second half of pregnancy. The mother and child room has changing rooms, kitchens, play areas, children's showers and bedrooms.

    Flight Delay

    In case of a flight delay, the passenger has the right to refuse the flight and return the cost of the air ticket, even if it is "non-refundable". You can also file a claim with the carrier to compensate for losses and moral damages. And recover a fine from the carrier in the amount of 25% of the established minimum wage for each hour of delay, but not more than 50% of the cost of the air ticket.
