Luggage Transportation

Passenger luggage is accepted for transportation upon its registration at the departure airport.

Passengers are entitled to carry luggage within the established allowance without additional charges. The free luggage allowance, including items carried by the passenger, is set by the airline carrier.

For the transportation of excess luggage (where the dimensions of a single piece exceed 5050100 cm), the airline imposes an additional fee. After weighing and processing, if there is excess luggage, an airport employee will provide the necessary information and direct you to the cashier or airline representative for payment.

The rates for transporting excess luggage are set by the airline providing the transportation. Payment is made at the airport cashier or at the airline's office. After payment, it is necessary to obtain a receipt and present it to the staff at the check-in counter to receive your boarding pass.

At the airport, the following baggage parameters are set for processing using an automated baggage handling system:

Weight: no more than 23 kg and no less than 3 kg.
Height: 40 mm
Width: 75 mm
Length: 900 mm

Luggage Transportation rules

If your luggage exceeds the established dimensions, you should register it as oversized luggage and drop it off at special points for domestic and international flights. The weight of one piece of registered luggage should not exceed 50 kg, except for a wheelchair used by a passenger among disabled individuals and others with limited mobility. If the weight of the luggage exceeds 50 kg, such luggage is transported through the cargo warehouse. Oversized luggage is issued at the oversized luggage collection point located in the baggage claim area near the lost luggage counter.

At Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport, passengers can use luggage wrapping services. Special stretch film protects luggage from contamination, unauthorized access, and spontaneous opening. A team of professionals can wrap your luggage in less than one minute. Luggage can be wrapped in the area opposite the airport entrance.

For travelers’ convenience, luggage, hand luggage, or other items can be left at any time in the luggage storage room of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport. The storage room is located on the first floor of the airport.

In case of damaged luggage discovery, it is necessary to immediately report the incident to the lost luggage service. Be sure to have your transportation documents (boarding pass, luggage tags) and an identification document with you.

Loss, damage, search for luggage

At Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk Airport, passengers can drop off their luggage at counter No. 24 up to 6 hours before departure. You will need to present your boarding pass and documents to the agent at the counter.

Rules for the carriage of hand luggage

Typically, a business class passenger may carry an average of 40 kilograms for free, while an economy class passenger may carry 20 kilograms. Hand luggage in business class usually does not exceed 10–15 kilograms, and in economy class - 8 kilograms.

Note: When transferring flights with two different airlines, the norms for allowable hand luggage may vary.
